Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

Sometimes you just know that a good massage will help! Whether it be for muscle tension, improving mobility and flexibility, reducing pain or soreness following exercise or for pregnancy aches I can provide a range of different massages to suit you.

Sports massage:

Helpful to improve flexibility and blood flow, reduce muscle soreness after exercise and assist with removal of lactic acid. A sports massage will help you both prepare for and recover from exercise.

Deep tissue massage:

Perfect for those with ongoing muscle tension that requires a specialist massage to realign the deepest areas of muscle and fascia. A deep tissue massage will use many different techniques and be tailored to your body’s requirements.

Helpful for chronic back and neck pain, stress relief and stretching scar tissue.

Pregnancy Massage:

Combining both hands on physiotherapy skills in the pre and post–natal stage with massage is a must have treatment for any mum or mum ‘to be’!

So often we hear that pregnancy aches and pains are just part of the process- but why let it be if someone can help reduce it?!

Pelvic, hip, lower back, sciatic, upper back and pubic pain can all be treated using key massage and mobilisation techniques to increase movement and reduce stiffness in both the joints and the muscles surrounding them. In addition a massage can aid with fatigue and insomnia, reduce swelling, improve circulation and help with cramps.

Postnatally, those long periods of time spent in awkward positions holding your baby to feed, comfort and sleep, often triggers pain in the lower and upper back. I can help alleviate these symptoms and use our specialist physiotherapy knowledge to help with posture and simple exercises to avoid re occurrence.
